Helping Women and Children Become Safe & Self-Sufficient
Alternatives to Violence (ATV) is committed to intervention in, education about, and prevention of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes.

Our History
lternatives to Violence began in 1982 in a church basement through the efforts of 3 women who joined together in a non-denominational group to assist women in abusive relationships. As the program grew it became apparent that some women needed a safe place to live while recovering from the trauma of the abuse and Alternatives to Violence opened the first Transitional Housing Program in the state of Colorado in 1988. ATV now manages the largest number of transitional units in the state.
