Counseling & Support Group
Victimization has long-lasting effects on both adults and children. Through education and advocacy, you can explore the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent crimes. Through counseling, you can process and begin to heal from the effects of trauma and post-traumatic stress. Alternatives to Violence can help you find the right fit for your needs and situation.
Counseling
Based on the "Power to Change," this online support group covers basic rights, relationships, self-esteem, defining abuse, boundaries, emotions, assertiveness, endings and new beginnings. Download the flyer here.

Success Stories from Counselors:
Geena came to ATV after years of severe abuse from her husband and family. After two years of hard work in therapy, she's going to school, has an apartment, and has made significant progress healing.
Client witnessed domestic violence between her parents. Client had regressed in toileting and had started wearing diapers. After receiving therapy at ATV she has played through her trauma and wears underwear again.
Anne came to ATV as a single mom with no income, transportation, or home. While in housing and therapy, Anne secured a full-time job, fully supports her sons, and was approved for a Habitat home.
