OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

Let's use October as a time to rally together to bring awareness to domestic violence and support survivors in our community. In collaboration with community partners, Alternatives to Violence has planned the special events listed below in October to make it easy to help.

October Events

VISIT THE LOVELAND AND BERTHOUD LIBRARIES

Visit the Loveland and Berthoud libraries to learn more about domestic violence any time during October. Each library features a display with fiction and non-fiction books selected by Alternatives to Violence.

RAISE MONEY AND SPREAD AWARENESS IN THE WORKPLACE

Are you a local business looking for an easy way to support survivors in our community?
We have put together donation boxes and posters for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Place the donation box near a checkout, workplace common area or entrance area. Posters can be hung in a common area, lunchroom or discreetly in restroom stalls where it can reach someone who might need our information. Email rosemarie.massaro@alternativestoviolence.org to claim your set.

RELATIONSHIP VIOLENCE AWARENESS PLAZA DAY @ CSU

Come see us at the Relationship Violence Awareness Month Plaza Day on Lory Student Center's plaza, hosted by Women and Gender Advocacy Center at Colorado State University.

Learn about ATV's services and about many other community resources that will be there!

 

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 6:30-9:30pm

ONE-TIME LOCAL SCREENING OF HIDE @ THE LYRIC

HIDE is an ultra-real psychological thriller about one resilient woman fighting back against her husband's escalating gaslighting and abuse during lockdown.
The film is intended to inspire survivors to seek support services and empower their escape.
Alternatives to Violence and Crossroads Safehouse will participate in a discussion following the film with the creators. For more information visit bensamuels.com/hide

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, 6:00-9:00pm

BLUES JAM AT BLACK AND BLUES MUSIC AND BREWS

Come on down to enjoy some live music! Our own Joey O'Bryan will host Blues Jam with Cerise Sprague's house band at Black and Blues Music and Brews. Donations will be collected for Alternatives to Violence.
